I’m thrilled to announce that William Morrow will publish my award-winning debut novel, WELCOME TO REDEMPTION, in Spring 2025!
William Morrow – an imprint of HarperCollins – is one of the oldest and most revered publishers of quality fiction in the world. And it was my top choice out of all publishers, because it’s home to the crime writers who have had the biggest influence on my own writing – Dennis Lehane, Elmore Leonard, and Don Winslow. Other legends at William Morrow include Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and JRR Tolkien, and a whole bunch of contemporary writers like Neil Gaiman, Joe Hill, Taylor Adams and others, whose work I can’t get enough of.
There are other really exciting developments cooking in the world of Redemption, but I can’t talk about them just yet. I know two years is a long time to wait, but I promise it will be worth it!
About WELCOME TO REDEMPTION:
A prohibition-era crime epic with high stakes, memorable characters and a killer ending, WELCOME TO REDEMPTION evokes the tone and setting of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, and would sit perfectly on your bookshelf between Dennis Lehane’s Live by Night and Elmore Leonard’s The Hot Kid. The book is the Grand Prize winner of Screencraft’s 2021 Cinematic Book Competition, out of roughly 1,400 entries.
It’s the Roaring Twenties, and the most notorious gangsters in America take their summer vacations in Redemption, Maine. While visiting the secretive lake town, America’s most wanted can mingle with celebrities and millionaires, party at the speakeasies, gamble in the casino and visit the legendary brothel. But in Redemption, someone is always watching.
The town is home to the biggest bootlegging interchange on the east coast, and the mobsters rely on Redemption to fuel their criminal enterprises. It’s a system that has worked flawlessly for almost a decade. But in the summer of ‘28, hijacking the whole operation proves to be a target far too tempting to resist . . .
WELCOME TO REDEMPTION follows the interwoven lives of the town residents, guests, protectors and conspirators throughout the busy first week of the summer season, building toward a massive heist that pits the gangsters against the townsfolk – and each other – in the ultimate battle for power. For money. For Redemption.
